Pamela Patterson, CEO

Pamela Patterson became the CEO of West Company in July of 2004, at a time when the organization was in need of restructuring. Since taking the lead as West Company's CEO, Pamela has successfully secured over a million dollars in grants from diverse funding sources, and has been instrumental in growing and expanding West Company Services to include hosting the Small Business Development Center and in securing funds from the City of Fort Bragg and County of Mendocino through the Community Development Block Grant Program. 

Pamela has been assisting businesses in Mendocino County for over 10 years. Prior to becoming the CEO of West Company Pamela held positions of the Director of the Women's Business Center, Office Manager, and Business Consultant with West Company. Pamela has a vast knowledge of business and economic development in Mendocino County which has helped many local businesses start and grow

Cathy Boyd, Operations Manager

With over 30 years of experience in administrative management, public relations, database administration, and contract management, Cathy is responsible for the administration of our internal policy and procedures that maintain the efficiency of our organization. In addition, she also administers the collection of data and required reporting to funding agencies and organizations. Cathy is also responsible for the design and maintenance of our internal tracking system which coordinates our funding and service delivery. 

Heather Gurewitz, Director of Women's Business Center

Heather has a master degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon and a bachelor degree in Geography from UC Berkeley. She specializes in community-based economic development with an emphasis in small business development. Heather grew up in an entrepreneurial household and has worked as a freelance cartographer and graphic designer. She has additional expertise in eco-tourism, sustainability, and conflict management. In working with entrepreneurs in Oregon and Honduras, she has experience in composing business and marketing plans.

 Melissa Anderson, Program Coordinator

A native northern Californian, Melissa Anderson's business experience comes not only from her time working with her husband as owners of a bakery in France, but also as a freelance writer/editor. Melissa holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Chicago and an MA from the University of Colorado. Melissa coordinates Coast programs and also assists clients in developing their stories and marketing. She also teaches West Company workshops such as "Marketing You!" and "Venture Forward."

Angela Orsi, Administrative Coordinator

Angela provides invaluable administrative support to West Company's Inland clients from the Ukiah office.

 In addition to employees at West Company, we have business advisors under contract to counsel our SBDC clients and when appropriate our TIG clients. Contractors include:

Nancy Banker, a highly motivated, results oriented seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in multiple markets including healthcare. She was the founder and COO of Entremed Physician Equity Network from 1989-1998. She has helped small businesses in Mendocino County with turnarounds, buying and selling a business, securing financing, operations, strategic partnership development and management, recruiting and HR, and contract negotiations.

Joy Calonico is a "serial" entrepreneur with experience in business start-ups, product development, branding, marketing, business planning and operations, She has worked with businesses in Mendocino County for over 20 years. For five years she worked for West Company and the Santa Rosa SBDC, serving local entrepreneurs. She has a background in media and has been a POS display designer. She holds Masters degrees in fine art, business and communications.

Steve Lamb is the Owner and Director of Client Services for Interview Team and brings over 20 years experience in management and operations in the telecommunications industry. Steve’s particular areas of expertise include strategic and tactical planning, budgeting and financial analysis, project development and management, and creating and maintaining positive relationships with governmental and regulatory agencies.

Donna Montag Donna Montag joined West Company as a contract consultant in 2012 and specializes in management accounting. Donna has over 20 years of experience doing senior accounting work and is a certified management accountant with both broad and deep experiences in the analysis of financial statements and in computer systems.

Steve O'Mara  is the owner of O’Mara & Company Consulting which provides development and training resources for individuals, agencies, organizations, and entities seeking feasibility research, planning, training, and support for business and work-readiness interests and activities. "SteveO" brings his wealth of experience to consultation with clients and to workshops he facilitates such as the Building a Better Business workshop series.

Ruth Dobberpuhl is a certified QuickBooks bookkeeper and when appropriate, counsels our clients in their QuickBooks.
